Asian art
Works of art of various types and countries of origin are offered at Dorotheum Vienna. The selection includes art and antiques from China, Japan and Korea, from the Himalayan region, Mongolia, India and Southeast Asia.
These include Chinese painting, Chinese sculpture, Chinese porcelain and Chinese applied arts such as jade and stone carvings, ivory, coral and bamboo carvings, lacquer, cloisonné, enamel, glass and silverware as well as textiles and furniture. Also offered are Japanese colour woodcuts, Japanese paintings, Japanese applied arts such as netsuke, swords and sword decorations, lacquer objects, porcelain and metal work; paintings and porcelain from Korea as well as sculptures, paintings and applied arts from Tibet, Nepal, India and Southeast Asia.
