The up to seven times a year toy auction at the Vienna Dorotheum allows a glimpse into the childrens' rooms of the past. Memories of childhood are stirred and feelings of nostalgia arise; collectors delight in the dolls and teddy bears, the historical lead toys and model railways which are on offer. 

Toy-enthusiasts who wish to purchase exceptional pieces will find a bonanza at the Dorotheum auction. Brands such as Märklin, Bing, Ditmar, Carette, Lehmann, Fleischmann, Roco or Distler will make the hearts of model railway collectors leap for joy. Railway stations, locomotives such as, for example, the Märklin Crocodile, trailers and wagons, rails and other equipment will be offered for auction. Model cars by Distler, Schuco, Wiking or Arnold will equally be offered for sale, as will motorbikes, ships, airplanes, steam engines and wind-up toys. 

Old-fashioned toys are sought-after; solid figures, for example by Hausser Elastolin, Pfeiffer, Tipple Topple and Lineol, as well as tin and pewter figures, Matador toys, or Anker Stone Block construction sets also come under the hammer. 

The doll section includes specimens with porcelain heads made by well-known German as well as French manufacturers, such as Armand Marseille, Simon & Halbig, Heubach Köppelsdorf, Kämmer & Reinhardt, Steiner, Jumeau, Bru and many more. The selection also extends to celluloid dolls by the company Schildkröt, to the beloved Käthe Kruse dolls, up to the legendary Barbie dolls. 

At the Dorotheum auction, one can also sell doll's furniture, doll's clothing, doll's kitchens, toy shops, toy parlours and entire doll's houses, such as for example those made by the company Gottschalk. 

Naturally, one may not forget that cuddly companion from childhood, the teddy bear: teddy bears from the Steiff company are highly praised by collectors in the auctions at the Dorotheum.
