The important colour lithograph from a late phase in the artist’s production in an interesting proof variant: the usually dark purple drawing plate is printed twice and slightly offset in black and dark purple in the present example, giving the image an even more painterly character. The blue colour stripes underneath the dress were eliminated for the edition. A superb proof.
