With an archival photograph from the previous owner showing part of the hallway with a suite of furniture and the wall system.

hallway of the apartment of Gustav Siegel, No. 50 Baumgasse, 1030 Vienna

Gustav Siegel was a student and friend of Josef Hoffmann. He recommended him to the J. & J. Kohn furniture factory, whose senior designer Siegel became. As Siegel’s granddaughter recalls, the blue-coloured furniture for this room was manufactured by the Wiener Werkstätte. It had been Hoffmann’s wedding gift to Siegel when the latter married in 1905.
