Alessandro Mattia da Farnese (Farnese 16535-after 1679)
Francesco Petrucci has attributed the present painting to Alessandro Mattia da Farnese (Farnese 1635- after 1679) and has compared it to another autograph replica of this composition which was formerly in the Barberini collection, Rome (see F. Petrucci, Alessandro Mattia da Farnese ritrattista, in “Antologia di Belle Arti”, n. 67, 2004, pp. 39 – 50).
